NYC woman lured over CraigsList to New Hampshire home where man raped, imprisoned her

A New Hampshire town official was charged with abducting and raping a New York City woman lured to his lakefront home by the promise of a fresh start in a new town.

Jeffrey Gray, who avoided arrest for two weeks by checking himself into a veterans' hospital, was jailed Thursday on charges of kidnapping, rape, false imprisonment and assault.

The elected planning board member attacked the 34-year-old victim after responding to her craigslist ad, where she was seeking a new home in New England, authorities charged.

Gray, 48, convinced the woman to visit his rented Windham, N.H., home on March 5. Police said she was instead taken captive, raped and held for three days before Gray drove her to Boston's Logan International Airport.
Instead of boarding a plane on March 9, the victim approached a state trooper and detailed her terrifying stay at Gray's lakefront home in a quiet town of 15,000.

The suspect, who was arraigned by video on Wednesday from the Rockingham County jail, has a rap sheet that includes criminal threatening and criminal mischief.

There were also several restraining orders filed against him - including one filed by an ex-girlfriend who claimed Gray threatened her and her children, local court officials said.
The unsuspecting woman came to Windham after a computer conversation with Gray about her search for a new home. She was later treated for minor injuries at Massachusetts General Hospital and released.

Landlord Kevin Bleeker, who rented the house to Gray, was distraught over the allegations.

"I thought he was pretty reputable," Bleeker said. "I should have done a background check. I would have found he had a long history of problems with women."

Crime : Two Manhattan cops charged with raping a drunk woman

The trial of two Manhattan cops charged with raping a drunk woman was postponed Monday as prosecutors announced new evidence: video showing they visited her four times that night. Authorities originally thought Kenneth Moreno and Franklin Mata were in the woman's East Village home three times the night of Dec. 7, 2008. But they say further examination of surveillance video revealed the fourth visit - which they used to obtain a new indictment against the cops with a litany of extra charges.

Among the new allegations: Moreno, 43, and Mata, 27, failed to call an ambulance for the 29-year-old victim, who was severely intoxicated.

The suspended cops pleaded not guilty as they were arraigned on the new indictment - which forced a one-week trial delay so the defense can review the latest charges.

The cops responded to a 911 call to help the stumbling woman into her E. 13th St. apartment, and prosecutors have said all along that surveillance tape showed them returning two more times.

Now they say the cops returned yet again, shortly after 4 a.m., and stayed for an hour - allegedly after signing out for a meal break.

"This new evidence in no way makes the people's case weaker - but rather stronger," Assistant District Attorney Coleen Balbert told the judge.

Defense lawyers say the extra visit helps their case.

"That would suggest a guy who raped a woman would come back an hour later to see if she's okay," said Moreno's lawyer, Joseph Tacopina.

"That is an illogical conclusion."

He said that prosecutors previously said the rape happened on one of the first three visits and will be contradicting themselves if they tell the jury it happened during the fourth.

It was revealed last month that prosecutors wired the woman when she confronted Moreno outside his stationhouse several days after the attack.

She demanded to know if he had sex with her and if he wore a condom.

"Yes, yes I did," Moreno told her after repeated denials.

The woman was so drunk she remembers little, officials have said.

The cops face up to 25 years behind bars if convicted. Moreno is charged with raping the woman, while Mata allegedly helped him commit the crime and cover it up.

Vanessa Hudgens flaunts her bikini body in Shape, reveals her 'unhealthy' fast food addiction

In the wake of her newest nude photos scandal, Vanessa Hudgens is proudly showing some skin on the new cover of Shape magazine.

Wearing a tiny pink bikini and nude mesh sweater, Hudgens flaunts a toned and tanned body that she says is far from the physique she once had.

"I was so unhealthy," the 22-year-old says about her former junk food addiction. "I used to go to Cold Stone Creamery, get a tub of Butterfinger ice cream and eat it all before bedtime."

"And my fingers were permanently stained orange from Cheetos," she adds.

The actress reveals that she binged on so much fast food, but hadn't noticed the effects until after she stopped her intense dance routines following the "High School Musical" live tour.

"When I came back, I almost couldn't get my costume on," she admits. "When I finally got it zipped up, my boobs were up to my chin!"

Realizing the need to change her diet, Hudgens took a healthier approach to how she saw food.

For breakfast, she now enjoys egg white omelettes with vegetables or oatmeal with almonds and fruit. To keep it light for lunch and dinner, she often eats a spinach salad with grilled chicken or salmon.

"When you're putting good stuff into your body, you feel so much better," she says.

Making the transition from cute Disney starlet to tough, action chick wasn't easy for Hudgens, who stars in the upcoming action-fantasy film "Sucker Punch."

"I knew it was going to be hard but I didn't know how hard," she says of her strict workout regimen that involved lifting weights and kettle bells.

"In the beginning I could dead lift 135 lbs. By the end, I lifted 180 lbs," she continued. "I was a monster."

Now that work on the film has wrapped, Hudgens continues to keep in shape with Pilates, yoga, spinning and kickboxing classes.

"Exercise is amazing from the inside out," she adds. "I feel so alive and have more energy."

Mom Julie Carr gets 20 years for sexually abusing own daughter in video chats with British teen

A woman who sexually abused her own baby girl on a webcast with a teenager in England will have at least 20 years to think about her sick crime.

A judge could hardly hide his disgust for Julie Carr during her sentencing this week. The Maine woman received two decades in jail for producing child pornography.

"What you have done, Ms. Carr, is violate the most basic bond of society -- the bond between a mother and her child, the bond between a mother and her daughter," U.S. District Judge John Woodcock said, the Bangor Daily News reported.

"I'll tell you, unequivocally, that yours is the worst case I've ever seen."

The 33-year-old mother of four molested her youngest daughter while video-chatting with a teen, Nicholas Wilde, across the Atlantic Ocean in 2009. She pleaded guilty in federal court to the pornography charges in 2010 and also is expected to be sentenced on state charges of gross sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Carr's children -- three daughters and one son -- were removed from her care after her arrest. The videos involved the youngest girl, who was nearly 2 years old at the time.

The mother's depraved acts were discovered when British authorities arrested Wilde, then 19, two years ago. During the bust, they found a memory stick containing recordings of her video chats, according to the BBC.

Wilde, who has Asperger's syndrome, pleaded guilty to making and distributing child porn last year and is serving nearly five years in prison.

Carr's lawyer argued the woman was "conned" into performing the acts online, court documents state.

"I am sorry," she said during her sentencing. "I never meant to hurt anyone in my family. I regret it."

Stanley Guidroz charged with murder after cops find wife stabbed to death in backseat of his car

A Louisiana man drove aimlessly around the state for seven hours with his dead wife's body in the backseat before surrendering to cops in her fatal stabbing.Stanley Guidroz, 53, was charged with murder after a fight over their rocky seven-year marriage escalated into violence early Wednesday behind a Burger King in Houma, La., police said.Following the 5 a.m. stabbing, Guidroz - with the body of wife Pepettra in backseat - drove his 1999 Ford Mustang for about seven hours, police said.He finally stopped at the police station in Zachary, La., about 100 miles from Houma, parking his car and walking inside.He told officers his wife's dead body was in the back seat of his car. Once cops checked and found the body with multiple stab wounds, Guidroz was quickly placed under arrest.The suspect was returned to Houma to face a second-degree murder charge. Cops said he apparently picked the Zachary police station at random to turn himself in.
