NYC woman lured over CraigsList to New Hampshire home where man raped, imprisoned her

A New Hampshire town official was charged with abducting and raping a New York City woman lured to his lakefront home by the promise of a fresh start in a new town.

Jeffrey Gray, who avoided arrest for two weeks by checking himself into a veterans' hospital, was jailed Thursday on charges of kidnapping, rape, false imprisonment and assault.

The elected planning board member attacked the 34-year-old victim after responding to her craigslist ad, where she was seeking a new home in New England, authorities charged.

Gray, 48, convinced the woman to visit his rented Windham, N.H., home on March 5. Police said she was instead taken captive, raped and held for three days before Gray drove her to Boston's Logan International Airport.
Instead of boarding a plane on March 9, the victim approached a state trooper and detailed her terrifying stay at Gray's lakefront home in a quiet town of 15,000.

The suspect, who was arraigned by video on Wednesday from the Rockingham County jail, has a rap sheet that includes criminal threatening and criminal mischief.

There were also several restraining orders filed against him - including one filed by an ex-girlfriend who claimed Gray threatened her and her children, local court officials said.
The unsuspecting woman came to Windham after a computer conversation with Gray about her search for a new home. She was later treated for minor injuries at Massachusetts General Hospital and released.

Landlord Kevin Bleeker, who rented the house to Gray, was distraught over the allegations.

"I thought he was pretty reputable," Bleeker said. "I should have done a background check. I would have found he had a long history of problems with women."

Crime : Two Manhattan cops charged with raping a drunk woman

Police officers Kenneth Moreno (left) and Franklin Mata, accused of raping a drunk woman, arrive at Manhattan Supreme Court for jury selection in their trial Monday.

The trial of two Manhattan cops charged with raping a drunk woman was postponed Monday as prosecutors announced new evidence: video showing they visited her four times that night. Authorities originally thought Kenneth Moreno and Franklin Mata were in the woman's East Village home three times the night of Dec. 7, 2008. But they say further examination of surveillance video revealed the fourth visit - which they used to obtain a new indictment against the cops with a litany of extra charges.

Among the new allegations: Moreno, 43, and Mata, 27, failed to call an ambulance for the 29-year-old victim, who was severely intoxicated.

The suspended cops pleaded not guilty as they were arraigned on the new indictment - which forced a one-week trial delay so the defense can review the latest charges.

The cops responded to a 911 call to help the stumbling woman into her E. 13th St. apartment, and prosecutors have said all along that surveillance tape showed them returning two more times.

Now they say the cops returned yet again, shortly after 4 a.m., and stayed for an hour - allegedly after signing out for a meal break.

"This new evidence in no way makes the people's case weaker - but rather stronger," Assistant District Attorney Coleen Balbert told the judge.

Defense lawyers say the extra visit helps their case.

"That would suggest a guy who raped a woman would come back an hour later to see if she's okay," said Moreno's lawyer, Joseph Tacopina.

"That is an illogical conclusion."

He said that prosecutors previously said the rape happened on one of the first three visits and will be contradicting themselves if they tell the jury it happened during the fourth.

It was revealed last month that prosecutors wired the woman when she confronted Moreno outside his stationhouse several days after the attack.

She demanded to know if he had sex with her and if he wore a condom.

"Yes, yes I did," Moreno told her after repeated denials.

The woman was so drunk she remembers little, officials have said.

The cops face up to 25 years behind bars if convicted. Moreno is charged with raping the woman, while Mata allegedly helped him commit the crime and cover it up.

Toddler raped at SeaWorld, Michael Grzybowicz being held without bail: Florida police

A family trip to SeaWorld turned into a nightmare for two parents after a man allegedly raped their 2-year-old daughter and saved pictures of the horrific crime on his cell phone, authorities said Friday.

Michael Grzybowicz, of Cocoa Beach Fla., has been held without bail in the Brevard County Jail since Saturday.

The 26-year-old allegedly molested the child Feb. 17 while her parents were on a ride. He had gone to the Orlando amusement park with the family, and the little girl's mother had asked him to watch the child, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

Police told WKMG that Grzybowicz was a co-worker of the girl's mother.

The crime was discovered after photographs of the alleged rape were found on the suspect's phone. He had e-mailed the photos to his personal Yahoo account.

The four photographs found on the phone clearly show the violation of the little girl, who was wearing diaper and a yellow sun dress while riding in a stroller, according to records.

Grzybowicz, a cook at a restaurant in Melbourne, told investigators he didn't know how the photos got onto his cell phone, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

The girl's mother told authorities she had left her daughter alone with Grzybowicz for about 10 minutes while she and her boyfriend went on an amusement ride.

"Nothing is more important than the safety and welfare of our guests, and our team members are trained to report any kind of suspicious behavior," Sea World said in a statement. "Illegal behavior of any type is not tolerated at our parks. Our thoughts are with the family at this very difficult time."

Grzybowicz has been jailed since Saturday on charges of possessing child pornography.

Cops are looking into the possibility that Grzybowciz had molested another child under the age of 12 in case unrelated the latest incident at SeaWorld.

Vanlenzeo Delrentus Brent allegedly raped 2 children for years after their mom died

Vanlenzeo Delrentus Brent could have done the decent thing and helped protect and raise a couple of his little cousins after their mother died in 2003.
Instead, police say, the 29-year-old man raped the girl and boy for years in the home they shared on Dupont Avenue North, where they'd come to live under the care of their aunt.

The only thing that stopped the abuse was Brent being sent to prison in 2008 -- for sexually abusing a mentally impaired girl with an IQ of 33.

The girl said Brent had lured her to his house with promises of candy. But Brent told the cops he figured he could have his way with her because her father had offered her to him as a "token of generosity." Aroused, he said he touched her breasts and she kissed his penis.

The girl's mother walked in on them as she was pulling up her pants. Brent was naked.

"The defendant then attempted intercourse with T.B., but found that she was not sufficiently aroused so was unsuccessful. The defendant made the comment that T.B. was not responding to the sexual stimulation "like normal people would respond."
He considered himself "normal people," one assumes.

Brent spent three years in prison for sexually abusing the girl. Then, the same month he got out, another horror story emerged.

A courageous middle school-aged girl who had come with her brother to live with their aunt in Minneapolis after their own mother had died, told an adult in November that she was having problems in school and had a terrible secret to tell. Brent, a cousin, had raped and molested her almost daily for five years.

He'd done the same thing to her big brother.

Child A also reported witnessing the sexual abuse of Child B. Child A stated the defendant would penetrate Child B's anus with his penis. She described watching the defendant put ice on his penis before penetrating Child B. Child A stated, when Child B would yell because of the pain, the defendant would go to the "candy stash" during the sexual abuse to silence him.
The brother subsequently told police that he and Brent had slept together in the basement of the house on Dupont Avenue, and he'd awoken one night to find his aunt telling Brent to "leave him alone." Other times, Brent tried to kiss him and have sex with him. He never reported the abuse out of fear of punishment. Evasive and worried in interviews, he said he wasn't sure the degree to which he'd been abused.

Minneapolis cops arrested Brent on Wednesday. He's been charged with 10 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, and is being held at the Hennepin County jail on $500,000 bail.
